The International Maritime Organization has designated the theme for the 2011 World Maritime Day: Piracy: IMO Orchestrating a Response.

Recognizing their important maritime role in the United States and the world, stakeholders in the Western Gulf maritime industry are sponsoring a US parallesl observance of World Maritime Day.

Our goal is to bring the reality of the human and economic costs of piracy to the forefront of America's citizens and government leaders.
